Your family’s privacy and child safety are our highest priorities. SiteBlocker provides parents with digital boundaries and screen time controls while strictly respecting children's privacy. We believe effective parental control should never require invasive spyware.
1. Child Safety & Zero-Spyware Commitment
Unlike traditional monitoring software, SiteBlocker does not spy on your children:
- No Browsing History or Search Tracking: We never log, inspect, or sell the web pages, search queries, or videos your children access.
- No Keystroke Logging or Screen Snapshots: The extension cannot read typed messages, passwords, school documents, or capture screenshots.
- No Child Personal Information: We do not ask for or collect children's names, ages, emails, or biometric data, fully adhering to COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) data-minimization standards.
2. How Parental Control Works Without Data Harvesting
All website blocking happens 100% locally inside Google Chrome's native declarativeNetRequest engine. When a site is on the family blocklist, the browser simply drops the connection locally without sending any browsing signal to external servers.
3. Information Processed for Parental Controls
- Anonymous Device Pairing Token: A randomly generated anonymous ID (e.g.
dev_abc123) is created locally to connect the browser with the parent's Telegram remote control. - Parent Telegram Chat ID: When a parent pairs their phone, their Telegram chat ID is securely stored in Cloud Firestore exclusively to route authorized
/unlock,/lock, and timer requests to the family computer. - Parent Proximity Detection (Optional Companion): If you use the optional desktop helper to auto-lock when you move out of range, Wi-Fi subnet pings and Bluetooth signal checks run exclusively on your local computer. Neither your phone's IP nor its MAC address is ever transmitted to our cloud.
4. Data Security & Encryption
All communication between the parent's Telegram app and the extension uses industry-standard TLS 1.3 encryption. Parental unlock allowances automatically expire and relock according to the timer set by the parent.
5. Parental Rights & Data Deletion
Parents retain complete control over their configuration. You may unlink your phone at any time via the extension popup or by sending /unlink in Telegram, which immediately wipes your paired record from our database.
